Toolbox Essentials…

1. The first step for this card is the most important and holds the key to making the card stand in this manner. The design for the front of card is created and adhered to the inside of the card. Cut an 8.5cm square of floral paper from the Colossal Paper Pack, open your card blank and stick the square centrally to the left hand side of the card.

2. Use the black ink pad to stamp the daffodil image onto an 8cm square of white card.  Cut around the stamped image and glue it centrally to the floral panel.

3. Use the black ink pad to stamp the daffodil image onto a piece of daffodil paper. Gently sprinkle over the embossing powder, ensuring every part of the stamped image is covered, and tap to remove the excess.  Apply a gentle heat using a heat tool until the powder melts and becomes glossy. Cut around the large central daffodil and four corner daffodils before sticking to the corresponding shapes on the panel.

4. Take a piece of the floral border paper from the Colossal Paper Pack and cut out a line of flowers using your craft knife and cutting mat or small, sharp scissors. Apply a vertical line of adhesive to the left hand edge of the open card and press the trimmed border into place. Cut a second piece and glue this to the far right hand side of the card. Cut out a daffodil from the daffodil paper and stick it to the top right hand corner, as shown.

5. To finish your card, use your craft knife and a metal ruler to cut from the middle of the stamped panel to the corner, both top and bottom, and down the right hand side. Hold your card and bend the front back on itself so the outside edge meets the centre fold. This may be easier if you score before folding. Stand to finish.

For more information on heat embossing, please see our guide ‘How to Use Rubber Stamps’ in the Ideas Section.

Unfortunately we have now sold out of the Marie Curie Daffodil stamps, however if you have already brought your stamp please use this project for inspiration! Alternatively, please purchase a different Easter stamp or floral stamp to create this card.
