Chipboard
Oversize chipboard embellishments are a hot trend for 2007. Chipboard is so versatile, lending itself to many different techniques such as covering with paper, inking or painting. Some chipboard embellishments are already decorated to co-ordinate with a range of papers, cardstock & stickers. These are the easiest to use as you simply decide where you want them and stick them on!
Dress Up Plain Chipboard
For complete freedom, plain chipboard can be decorated to perfectly co-ordinate with your card, scrapbook layout or other project. If you are covering it with paper, ink the edges first to give a neat finish. Next, apply adhesive to the surface you are covering and smooth down a piece of paper slightly larger than your chipboard shape. To finish, trim the paper with a small pair of sharp scissors. If the edges of the paper aren't quite flush with the edge of the chipboard simply rub gently with a piece of fine sandpaper or an emery board to give a tidy but 'distressed' look.
